Each year, the Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region proudly attends and participates in nearly 50 community fairs in our region. These fairs provide an excellent forum for the Distress Centre to meet members of the community to introduce the services we provide. It also provides ample opportunities to act as recruitment for volunteering with our agency!
(RCMP Volunteer Fair) (CHEO Mental Health Info Night) (Algonquin Volunteer Fair)
Our staff and volunteers are readily available to provide presentations to community groups, government agencies, elementary & secondary schools, universities and colleges, and other private businesses on a variety of topics.
During the United Way/Centraide annual fundraising campaign in the fall, our representatives on the Speakers Bureau are in high demand. You can request that a DCOR speaker attend your event or campaign launch by contacting Centraide Outaouais or United Way/Centraide Ottawa, or by contacting DCOR directly. Community presentations are available for all ages, for groups of all sizes, and are facilitated in English and/or French.
