Tribute Giving

Donating to the Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region is a powerful way to pay tribute to someone special, either to remember someone you cherished who is no longer with us, or in celebration of a momentous event.

In Memoriam Gift

Memorial donations are a significant way for you to recognize someone special and an opportunity to let others know how much this person meant to you. Families & individuals may also consider requesting donations to the Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region in lieu of flowers.  We can provide cards to the funeral home for this.

To properly honour this donation, please use this form to include the name of the honouree and contact information for their family.  If you would like us to send a letter to them in acknowledgement of your special gift, you are able to indicate as so.

Note: Loss is an experience which is unique for people and can be a complex, intense and unpredictable process.  Our volunteers are always available to provide support and information whenever you need someone to talk to, 24 hours a day.

Celebration Gift

Celebrate your special occasion by asking friends & family for donations to the Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region or by donating on their behalf.  A card recognizing the gift will be sent to the recipient of the Celebration Gift.  You can make your Celebration Gift on our donation page!

Celebrations can be of any special event, such as:

  • Weddings - some couples choose to make donations on behalf of their guests to their desired charity in lieu of favours!
  • Birthdays - if you don't want to give another coffee shop gift card, a donation for a birthday is a great choice!
  • Anniversaries - mark a special date with a donation!
  • Graduation - show your graduate that you with with a donation in their honour - great for those going into the field of Mental Health!
