Anyone can learn the skills to help save a life from suicide.
This means you can be one of those people!
The Distress Centre of Ottawa & Region is hosting a 2-day ASIST workshop on:
June 25 & 26, 2018
What is ASIST?
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don't need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.
How much does it cost to participate?
The cost is $250 per person, $200 for students with a valid student ID. When you consider the cost, consider that you are going to gain invaluable skills that will allow you to help save a life.
Where is the workshop being held?
We would like to thank the Church of Resurrection for the use of their space to facilitate this workshop. The Church of Resurrection is located at 3191 Riverside Drive in Ottawa.
How do I sign up?
Easy! Fill out our online registration form and our facilitators will be in touch with you to provide additional details & information.
Please note that if you cancel your registration within a week of the workshop, you will be subjected to a $50 cancellation fee.
