What About Suicide?

All Crisis Line Specialists are trained in the LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop. This training allows them to discuss suicide with callers in an open, direct and non-judgmental manner.

It also provides Crisis Line Specialists with the skills to help callers identify risk and develop safeplans to guard against that risk.

We have helped people in crisis and provided professional development courses to the community since 1969.

At the heart of the Distress Centre are our volunteer Crisis Line Responders.  If you are interested in performing this vital service, we invite you to look through this section.

The work we do could not be accomplished without the generous support we receive from our donors. Each contribution has a tremendous impact on our ability to help individuals and families in crisis.
