Thank you very much for your interest in the Distress Centre and for taking the time to submit an application to volunteer as a Crisis Line Responder!

The application can take 30-45 minutes or more to complete. To assist with this you can save your work and return later to complete it.

Through this process, we hope to get a better understanding of what motivated you to apply for this position and why you feel that now is the right time for you to take on this highly rewarding opportunity.

In your application, you will be asked for the name, phone number and e-mail address of three references, so it will be helpful to have this information at hand.  References may be a mix of personal, professional and academic references.

NOTE: Please do not use family members or partners as references.

What's next?

Your application will be reviewed by Distress Centre staff. The information that you share with us will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with any parties outside the Distress Centre.

All applications will be reviewed.  However, not all applicants will be invited to the next step in our selection process.

Once you submit your application, a member of our team will be in touch with you shortly to discuss your application.

Apply to become a volunteer Crisis Line Responder.

If you have any questions or concerns about our application process or our volunteer program, please do not hesitate to contact us at 613-238-1089. It is recommended that you copy your answers to the longer questions and save them on a separate document.
